Creates: “On a green Welsh hillside, the Black Dragon (Established 1974) casts a range of unique solid pewter beads and buttons, each engraved with intricate and original Celtic knot designs. Beware of imitations! They are available threaded onto “CYFRIN” (“kuv-rin” from the Welsh for secret), ‘CELTIC CHAKRA’ and “BEADY” jewellery with unusual fillers and genuine gembeads or on their own for other makers and merchants. She also produces “CWLWM” (“koo-lum” from the Welsh for knotted) sterling silver Celtic beaded jewellery. All are sensibly priced and beautifully packaged”
INSPIRATION: “Among the various adornments worn by the ancient Celts, were beads. Examples dating from earliest times have been found throughout Europe; some of the finest of these have been unearthed in burial mounds and chambers constructed for high-ranking Celtic chiefs and their followers. These beads vary from the plain to the highly decorative and have been unearthed made from many different materials. I decided that a niche existed for a range of affordable pewter beads, decorated with original Celtic knots and designed to celebrate our Welsh heritage. It gives me great pleasure to imagine my very own beads being unearthed by future generations”
